Electrical engineer Sean Clodfelter recently earned his TÜV certification in Functional Safety Design. The Functional Safety Design Qualification helps ensure safety designs meet the standards of this internationally recognized body. Sean described the importance of these standards, “Safety is essential when there’s direct interaction between personnel, machines, and parts.”
As the Senior Electrical Designer, Sean is involved in many different projects in automation and combustion. While he is usually working on control panel design and integration with field devices, he also helps whenever assistance is required in electrical work.
“I started out 13 years ago doing CAD work and moved into electrical. My father was an electrical engineer, and he got me involved and taught me a lot. There’s still so much to learn though. Learning the combustion systems has been tough because it was all new to me. But I’ve learned a lot from Will, Steve, and the rest of the team. That’s been the best part about working for Olsträd so far, there’s always more to learn.”
