Career Day
We recently attended the Career Day event at Bio-Med Science Academy. Many students from several different grades attended.
Students were intrigued by the variety of projects we’ve worked on, and the different places we’ve been. They were curious about robots, the automation process, and what a career path in automation might look like.
Jenna was able to offer her personal experience in pursuing a mechatronics degree, her internship, and finding employment in the field. The students seemed to connect with her and asked many good questions.
We also showed them examples from real projects we’ve worked on. A positive sign for us was how many students were interested in various processes in projects— how robots can weld things, how items are sorted, what happens if an error occurs, etc.
Overall, we were pleased with how enthusiastic the students were, and how interested they seemed in automation. There were many creative kids that we hope decide to pursue careers in STEM.
