The Elektrogas VS pressure relief valves reduce temporary pressure surges in combustion systems. These devices are usually used on gas trains, industrial applications, and gas firing systems. The shutting-off of automatic valves, or regulators not closing tightly, can cause pressure spikes. By releasing extra pressure in a relief line, Elektrogas VS valves enable systems to work properly again.
The valve body is made of a durable aluminum alloy die-cast, and is designed for high relief flow. VS models come equipped with an adjustable spring for the precise setting of relief pressure on site. This product is suitable for use with non-aggressive gases, and special versions are available for aggressive gases (like biogas or COG).
Function
In relief valves, inlet pressure acts on one side of a diaphragm, while the other side has a spring. The diaphragm is connected to the disc. When the force of inlet pressure is higher than the force of the spring, the diaphragm moves and the disc opens, releasing gas in the relief line. After discharging a pressure surge, the inlet pressure gets lower and the disc closes again. Users have the ability to control the relief pressure amount using the adjustable spring.
